Zero Suit Samus
Overall:7
Offense: 8 Defense:2 Projectile:5 Final Smash: 4
Throwing: 6 Recovery:10 Aerial:9 Speed:8
Samus’ other form is a difficult one to master. She is very fast, and very light, easily knocked off a stage. However, when used correctly, she can be a forced to be reckoned with.
- Weight Class- Light Weight
- Attack Tier- Low
- Sliding Ability-Low
Special Moves
Paralyzer
A difficult to use, yet extremely useful move. Use the Paralyzer mostly as a defense. It will halt any attack of an enemy running at you. Charge it when falling toward the ground, and use it when you land. It’s a good way to switch from defense to offense because it is easy to combo out of.
Plasma Whip
One of the main ways to KO with Zerosuit. The tip of the Plasma Whip will set enemies aflame with a good deal of knockback (for Zero Suit Samus). Use the plasma whip when landing or on an approaching enemy because its start-up is a bit slow.
Plasma Wire
This is an amazing move. Samus shoots her whip upwards, pulling enemies downwards. It is a great recovery move, and also great when juggling. This move can also be used as an edge guard, and to halt enemy attacks from the air. The Plasma Wire is extremely quick. As you can see, the legnth is very long.
Flip Jump
Zerosuit’s best move, hands down. Samus does a seemingly useless jump that can can end in a kick at the user’s digression. On the ground, the legnth of the total jump is about the same as the Plazma Whip. This move can be used incredibly both defensively and offensively. It can be used as a third jump in recovery, an edge guard, and a KOing move. More on Flip Jump in Strategies.
Final Smash: Power Suit Samus
Type 1 for Power Suit, Type 2 for KO Rating:3
Zero Suit Samus’ final smash transforms her back into power suit Samus, and creates a vortex of pain around her. However, said vortex has limited range, and does about 25% damage. You must get in close to an opponent with over 70% damage in order to KO them. Otherwise, this final smash is more of a minor annoyance for competitors than a major threat.
Basic Strategies
For a basic usage of Zerosuit, one must abuse her whip at all costs. Keep enemies away, for they WILL knock you off the stage. Make good use of her side b and smashes to keep enemies at bay. Use Paralyzer to halt enemies, and Plasma Whip to send them back out. This same strategy works with down and side smashes. The best offense is a good defense.
Keep enemies from jumping over you with either the up smash, to send them flying up, or the Plasma Wire, to pull them down. This is extremely useful, and will keep you opponent where you want them; away from you.
Finally, there is how to use Zerosuit’s REAL recovery. First, use her second jump (duh) which has great distance in itself. Then, use the Flip Jump for extra distance. After the entire flip is complete, use the Plasma Wire to grab the edge.
Use the Flip Jump to recover, and avoid being edge guarded. If close enough, Flip Jump over your edge guarding opponent and unleash your kick towards them, sending THEM flying. Also, the Flip Jump can be used as an air dodge to avoid meteor smashes.
Advanced Strategies
Edge guard with Flip Jump: Do a quick Flip Jump off of the stage and kick towards your recovering opponent. If you hit them at the correct angle, you will perform a metor smash and send them flying to their doom.
Edge Guarding with the Plasma Wire: If an enemy is high up and attempting to recover, bring them down with the plasma wire. Jump out and try to pull them down with plasma wire, there is a good chance that they will fly downwards and run out of jumps to recover.
Expert Strategies
Keep your opponents in the air to take advantage of Zerosuit’s aerials. Use her down throw, up smash, or down a to pop enemies into the air. Then, juggle as long as possible. Continually use up air to keep enemies high up. Rolling into a neutral a combo also knocks enemies into the air.
When enemies are too far out of reach, use Plasma wire to pull them down, followed quickly by up air. This is an extremely effective KO strategy.
Back and forwards air also have the ability to KO straight out of a down throw if enemies have enough damage, but up is most effective.
1 on 1
Zero Suit Samus is at her best in one on ones. Keep your opponent away from you, and in the air. Stay very evasive and hit only when there is an opening. Use Plasma Whip, Up Air, and Flip Jump to KO.
Free For All
I wouldn’t recommend Zerosuit in a free-for-all match. However, if you are compelled to do so, be sure to stay far from the center of the action. Use a lot of Paralyzer and Plasma Whip to stay safe.
Against
Keep her off of her feet. Stay close and continually attack. Once you hit her once, she is somewhat easily juggled (watch out for her down air). KO attacks will work once she is at about 70% damage, take advantage and KO quickly.
Special Thanks to Dobs!!
